Welcome to Zawāj. By using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
By downloading, accessing, or using Zawāj, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Zawāj. By using the app, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
When using Zawāj, you agree to:
You retain ownership of the responses and content you submit through Zawāj. By submitting content, you grant Zawāj a limited license to store and display your responses to your partner as part of the app's functionality.
The Zawāj app, including its design, questions, features, and content (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by Zawāj and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
Matchmaking is a paid membership. Joining the matchmaking pool requires an active membership; creating your profile and completing verification do not.
Plans and pricing. Membership is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the Apple App Store. The price is shown in the app before you subscribe and is charged in your App Store country's currency. Introductory and promotional prices, where offered, apply for the period stated and then renew at the standard price. Prices may change; any change applies from your next renewal and Apple will notify you in advance.
Billing and renewal. Payment is taken by Apple when you confirm the purchase and at the start of each renewal period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current period, and you keep membership until that period ends.
Discount codes. We may issue codes redeemable through the App Store. Each code carries its own terms, is personal to you, and may be withdrawn if misused.
What membership includes. One curated match proposal each Wednesday when a compatible member is available, presented bio first, with photos revealed only after both members accept. Where no compatible member is available in a given week, no proposal is made; the Match Guarantee in section 10 describes what happens if this occurs for most of a paid month. Once you and another member are matched, you are paired with that person only. You will not be proposed to anyone else, and no one else will be proposed to you, until one of you ends the match from the app. Ending a match returns you to the pool for the next Wednesday.
What membership does not include. We do not guarantee a marriage, a particular match, or a match in any specific week. A match you have already been given is never withdrawn because your membership ends.
Pausing. You may pause matching from your profile. While paused you are not proposed to anyone and receive no proposals; your subscription continues to renew unless you cancel it.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store's terms. The Match Guarantee in section 10 is the only case in which we will initiate a refund or credit on your behalf.
If in any paid month of matchmaking membership we do not offer you at least two potential matches, you may claim that month back. A "potential match" is a match proposal we present to you in the app, whether or not you or the other person accept it.
Claims must be made from the app within 30 days of the end of the month concerned. Before approving a claim we check our match records for that billing month. A claim is not eligible for a month in which you were matched with someone for any part of the month, accepted a match proposal, paused matching, were removed from the pool for a breach of these terms, or did not hold a verified profile for the whole month.
Approved claims are refunded by Apple under the App Store's refund terms, which Apple administers; where Apple declines the refund, we will instead credit one month of membership to your account. This guarantee applies once per billing month and does not apply to discounted or introductory months.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Zawāj shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the app.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected in updated versions of the app. Your continued use of Zawāj after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
